OMG why such ..!!!

Superstitious and beliefs blinds the world within some other world of beliefs. Superstitious beliefs and how it is eradicated. We had this talk as usual quite Friday and this topic somehow came up along with my colleagues as we were talking about some pregnancy rules.
Though nobody is sure how these customs and superstitious beliefs are rooted, people do not fail to mention and follow them religiously. Some believe it, while some follow it just because they have asked to do so. Superstitious in every single thing, marriage, pregnant, buying things, selling things, doing this and doing that all has to check with time, date and etc.
Nevertheless, when it comes to Indian marriage the list of “wedding superstition” is interesting fact to be mentioned. The whole point of following these old superstitions is to make sure that the newlywed couple starts their journey with good luck and happy charm.
Even black as in colour is a bad omen or bad colour. These statements and such ridiculous beliefs of people are sometimes funny and a little annoying.
Though some tradition and superstition feels illogical and overhyped, they are still followed somehow. Even though we are so civilized, still these are believed and followed ridiclilously.
I always wonder how superstitiousour society is. During my grandmother’s time, there were few I used to hear her grumbling and getting rest of us obeys it.
Most common ones that I used  to hear as my grandmother would say,
If a cat crosses your path as you are leaving home for a long journey or such is considered to bring failure or bad luck. Don’t salt at twilight, do not exchange or pass a metal item.
The height of selfishness and superstition extends up to breaking white pumpkins on the road to remove obstacles or to absorb the negative energy around us. Normally it’s done when someone returns back hospital or went through an accident.
My great-grandmother used to break an egg drawn with eyes, nose and brows. She would murmurs some words in Tamil that goes like this in English translated version, “bad eyes, evil eyes, people’s  eyes, everybody’s eyes, jealous eyes, devious eyes, your eyes, my eyes, etc.”, it goes as long as for 5 minute trailer. I used to enjoy hearing them; she would not miss any one of her words. The egg would be circled around a sick person or to clear some bad omen. They believe the egg will absorb all the negative energy and when we break the egg it would change colour – black.
The wall lizard’s twittering is known for a positive answer.
There are also many superstitions related to pregnant women, which originated for their protection. Some of the most widespread are: A pregnant woman should not wander out alone at night or enter an empty house, carry a nail when leaving the house or traveling at twilight.
Superstitions have been widespread in society since the beginning of civilization. Our ancestors had scattered some beliefs to have control over people and to form a disciplined society. Those beliefs have somehow helped in people’s lives.
Of course it’s not good for a pregnant woman to wander out alone, but people are never bothered about the actual reason behind it and hence it resulted in framing such beliefs. That was alright till the period when rational belief and scientific attitude was lacking.
In those days, people had no scientific knowledge about nature and never had any control over forces of nature. In such situations, superstitions were born as a means to satisfy the causes and effects of some mishaps. Our ancestors propagated that such incidences are have been caused by some supernatural elements.
Gradually, these explanations of events in life received acceptability and were passed onto further into more generations without any scientific knowledge, which now have become a part of our life.
There are only two things what I could describe. The positive energy and the other is the negative energy. If you are positive and believe in yourself, you can do wonders as you are a result of your thoughts.
When your belief attaches itself to some unscientific and illogical energy, it’s completely a waste and increases the level of garbage in the society’s ideology. That’s superstition. In the same way when your belief is attached to your self-confidence and attitude it will definitely bring you wonders.
Life is not a matter of chance or luck; it is not something out of our control; it is largely the result or effect of our thoughts. Thought rule our life not words or being superstitious.
They believe that every action has a cause, and every cause leads to some consequences. Whatever is not based on rationality and reason should not be allowed to overpower our mind and create unnecessary fear. If you have worked hard, you cannot fail just because a cat has crossed your way.
Superstitions are baseless and should be given up. They need to be eradicated from the society. If it tends to continue this way, then it will badly affect the intellectual growth of our society and will then arise to a completely illogical situation.
Beliefs are to be shared in a way it doesn’t mislead us or misused for everything single thing, but it has now gone out of limit and even the civilized humans of this era believes them.
We should know how to identify the factor of the ideology. But we never knew why and it has so many versions. It goes on…..
