The Conversations

Sometimes while in my office I keep myself away from indulging in any conversation. As not everyone would be keen in talking something logic or either they are not well verse on certain topic to discuss.Even they would try to avoid smart conversations with me because they will not be able to keep up with my knowledge.

I am not showing off about my knowledge of what I know in here. It is about how I learnt and what has changed now in today's world.
I was writing and updating my blog and one off them noticed it. He came over to my desk and said,"Wow, that's a very long one. But I don't understand anything".
At that time I was writing my "Physics and Theories" post.
The paragraph he read was on the space and emptiness.

"You don't know how space is, how can you write about it".
I asked him,"How many planets are there in our solar system?, How many galaxies do we see? "
He kept quite and said, "We never learn all these".
I told him, this post was something I experienced it in my childhood. I don't learn but I tend to learn as I wanted to know.

We don't wait to learn about it, we need to explore to learn about it. Schools teach about planets but not the depth of it. If we are curious and we want to know more than we need to explore and seek for the knowledge.
Then the whole topic went into childhood years.
I told him, in Malaysia TV there was only 3 TV channels and limited Indian programs.
I would eagerly wait for the cartoons which would be played only in the evening for an hour and during weekend mornings. We get to watch a Tamil movie only on Friday afternoon.
There weren't much exposures for me to the Indian cinema. So I watched English programs and documentaries.I grew up along these as we learnt and expanded our knowledge.
When I am too curious I will ask my mother or my aunts and uncle to get my answers.
I learnt everything about space, science, physics, nature, botanic and animals from books and TV.
Technology was limited at those time as there were no mobiles or computers only access of knowledge were books and the limited TV.
I had more time to explore and learn so much by reading till the technology came in.
What I learn in my childhood has broaden my mind and expanded my knowledge.
About space, I watched Star Trek series that interested me to learn more about universe and stars. I was also curious of what is outside our planet.
"Back to the Future" was the movie that thought me that if we can bend time to move into past and future. It also gave a glimpse of the future that could be with flying cars and trains. As to now, we have trains moving above our heads and hover boards too but still we can't go into the past which is not possible.
"McGyver" was the multi talented man that comes up with ideas to escape with limited materials. This was a movie of survival.
In documentaries, I learnt about animals and their habitats. I used to explore the oil palm estates with my brothers and we pretend like explorers discovering new leafs, fruits and insects. This was adventures and being curious.
I remember one day, one of my Mom's friend gave some collections of the National Geography series magazines. I still remember those collections were from the year 1985 till 1992, and these were the ones borden my knowledge and I never stopped learning.
I was so excited with the magazines. It took me around the world in those magazines. My mom used to read it for me as it was too advance for me and I learnt so much from it.

She did even subscribed to "Reader Digest" magazine which also helped with my learning and knowledge. Reader Digest thought me of life stories.
This was my "World Wide Web" before the Internet or Google came along.
All this gave me confidence for my knowledge and knowing the facts right, where else now everything is exposed on the Internet at our finger tips.
Back to the conversation, those who had experienced what I have gone through were on the same boat as I am, but this guy in the end of the day, took his hands up and surrendered his lost against me and other few of us.

He was from India, myself and my friends are Malaysians.

It is not from which country you are from, there is never ending in knowledge it is just that you choose what you want to know and learn. Nothing stops us from learning though everyday is a learning curve.

We can't learning, we learn everyday....
