Ola Bola....

Finally I managed to watch this Malaysian inspired movie based on a true story of our Malaysian football team . It is truly a Malaysian movie as it beautifully captures what it means to be a Malaysian.

The movie had so many concept to observe from friendship, team work and most of all understanding, trust, family and love. It didn't have something to differentiate each another as religion, racist or skin colours.

This movie has inspired the whole nation to always stay united. There were some well said quotes in the dialogues example - thought we have different in skin colours we still eat nasi lemak together.

“kulit kita lain warna, tapi kita sama-sama makan nasi lemak.”
Our skin colors may be different, but we all eat nasi lemak

We the audience get a taste of these culturally diverse lives that are united by a common thread, especially the bond of family.

What’s so beautiful about this movie is that these culturally different lives are showcased in a way that is not forced onto the audience as with the “Ahmad, Ah Chong and Raju” problem that is prevalent in our patriotic or inspirational movies and advertisements where racial unity is shown in a stereotypical manner.

The movie is about the Malaysian football team is gearing up for the Moscow Olympic qualification in 1980.It displayed the unity of Malaysian being united always without any discrimination or racism.

I liked the powerful word that made most of us tear watching it towards the ending,

“Kita menang sama-sama, kita kalah pun sama-sama.”
We win as one, we lose as one.

I wish we all would keep up to be united always as what our Father's of Malaysia have created, but it seems likely we are drifting farther away every day. The movie portrayed a beautiful united Malaysia
It also gives me hope because while it is not a Malaysian movie, the movie is for Malaysian and Malaysia. It is also the best movie Malaysia has produced to date.

I think every Malaysian have taken the effort to watched and appreciated the movie as 1 Malaysia.
