London Olympic 2012

I stayed awake just to catch the glimpse of the Live show of the Olympic opening on last Friday 27th July (in UK) as for me it was 28th July, 4am.
The most anticipated opening of the Olympic was held with a stunning show filled with the British’s history, art and culture. United by Wales, Scotland and Britain, London hosting the Olympic 2012 for the 4 times England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland came together. The stadium was themed with traditional and typical British country side atmosphere with rivers, rural idyllic with grassy meadows, fences, animals. The set seems to be real. After the green pleasant view of an English village, came the Industrial Revolutions of steel. It was magnificent opening with themes and great stories and achievements , histories in UK.

The ceremony kicked off with its 16 days of sporting thrills as more than 10,000 athletes from 204 countries. Since the Queen was celebrating her 60thyear in throne this year, the Queen played a small role in the mini cinematic action movie - James Bond with Daniel Craig.
Mostly the ceremony was inspired by Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”, and also ringing the giant 23 ton Olympic bell was awesome.
Besides that there were famous villains from the children stories, Voldermort and Captain Hook. They were quickly vanquished by dozens of “Mary Poppins” descending from the sky with brightly lighted umbrellas. I love Mary Poppins when I was younger (and still do) and the scenes of hundreds of Mary Poppins descending from the sky were remarkably stunning!
Our dearest Mr. Bean and his mischievous character added more spice to the event.
The final event had thousands of dancers featuring the British music industry from different era’s. And also Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the “www” (worldwide web) also, played a major role for this game’s opening.
Next, came the parade of athletes from 240 countries, as usual with the Greek’s team keeping up Olympic tradition and leading out thousands of competitors dressed in their national costumes.
The Olympic torch that has travel almost 8000 miles across the country reached the stadium on a speedboat driven up River Thames by famous footballer David Beckham.
The torch was lit on the 200 copper petals which rose on stalks to form a single burning flower. That was the most creative and spectacular scene of the event. Each petal representing each participating countries came together as the huge Olympic torch.  Rains of firework lit the London sky inside the stadium and also outside the stadium. Spectacular scene it would been!
Since I’m leaving thousands of miles away and I wasn’t there in to watch the opening ceremony with all the thousands of spectators in the stadium.
Though I had the best seat of the night, which did not cost me any penny as I get to sit right in front of my HD TV with billions of viewers from all around the world.
It was truly a brilliant opening. The man behind this whole idea Danny Boyle has made a amazing work and of course all the hard work by the volunteers planning such an event for 4 years to put together only for 3 hours.
