D'Unity Bears


Unity or United Bear of the World.

Whatte,bears!!! Yes, standing up about 2m tall and they are made of fibre glass.
Wondering what are these bears ??? They are series of painted life sized bear sculptures from Germany. A short history about it ;the first bear was created by Kluas and Eva Herlitz from Germany with collaborating sculpture Roman Strobl. This whole idea about these bear are for the Unity of the world with all the 143 nations.

The Unity bear world tour started in June –Novmber 2002 in Berlin,Germany. Now these bears have travelled as far as 5 continents. Malaysia is the 23rd stop and there are 17th other countries who are still waiting to welcome these bears. The idea of all the 143 bears representing the 143 nations from all over the world.It actually delivers the message of friendship,understanding ,peace and support for people of the world,no wars just unity and learning about other countries in form of art. Each bear represent each country that has participated in this Unity World Tour.

As each bear is painted reflecting their culture, history, tradition and religion. Each one of the bears are unique by itself as design are identically and different,representing the diversity of the people living in this world. The bears are an impressive work of art and a masterpiece of the cultural wealth of our world.Look for yourself when they come near to you soon.

Themed as “The Art of Tolerance”, the United Buddy Bears World Tour will be spreading the message of peace, love, friendship and international understanding as well as raising funds to aid children’s relief organisations in every country they visit.

It has also helped to raise fund for needy children around the world. Almost 1.8 euro € have so far been raised for children in need. Not bad these bear have really helped ;p .
These 143 bears identically standing together hand in hand signifying as people and nations are all coming together as one.Every single bear is pointing towards the special aspect of each country that is represented.

All these bears are standing together with their hands raised up in the air. From a distance it looks as though all of them are “hand in hand” holding the weight of the world together. Its the symbol features of world peace being as one world together.




It is best to visit it yourself and experience the bears standing there. Once a life time experience to see all the nations in one place nearer to you.

The Malaysia Bear isspecially designed and painted by renowned Malaysian artist, Imuda. Imuda’sdesign featured elements of the main races, culture, flora and fauna as well asfamous landmarks of Malaysia. The Malaysian Buddy Bear will join the otherbears on their globe-trotting mission


Malaysia is the first country in Asia to have this displayed . Indeed Malaysia has two painted bears. This bear is the second one as the first one is at the Malaysian Embassy in Berlin standing proudly.

The Train and An Elephant Story

If you are hailing from the 3rd biggest town in Perak state known as Teluk Intan (Teluk Anson or Teluk Mak Intan, will surely know the story of this Train and the elephant. I remember growing in this town which has a train station which not there anymore. I do remember when the traffic is halted to the traffic when a train pass by. When I was 6 years (987), I went on the train ride up Tapah. Now the nearest train station would be either Tapah or Bidor. I guess it was closed down in 1989. The remains of the station buidling has been renovated and now being used by the driving school. The tracks are missing, but i doubt many are left. I remember the times when I cycled to school (1998) through a short route which crosses the old train tracks which are not jst covered with scrubs and bushes.But now I guess those tracks would be completly dismantled off by people as you can get good money from the metal or iron if you trade in at the junkyard.
